Solène — Himalayan Quartz with Golden Rutile & Rainbow
Solène is a remarkable natural Himalayan quartz cluster distinguished by exceptional clarity, elegant formation, and two separate, beautifully prominent displays of golden rutile suspended within her crystal points.
Each inclusion appears almost to burst outward from within the quartz — fine golden needles radiating through the crystal like tiny fireworks captured in stone. The presence of not one, but two distinct examples of golden rutile gives Solène extraordinary visual interest and makes her especially rewarding to experience from different angles and in changing light.
A delicate natural rainbow is also tucked within one of her prominate points — more subtle and intimate, revealing itself only when the light meets her just right. Another whisper of a rainbow is tucked within her golden rutile.
Measuring approximately 8” long × 5” deep × 5” tall, Solène is one of the most versatile statement pieces in The Crystal Quill’s Himalayan collection. She has enough scale and presence to stand beautifully on her own while remaining exceptionally easy to incorporate into a curated interior, private collection, office, library, or display cabinet.
Why Himalayan Quartz
True Himalayan quartz occupies a special place within the world of fine mineral collecting.
Recovered from remote, high-altitude regions of the Himalayan Mountains, these crystals are extraordinarily difficult to access and extract. Mining is highly seasonal, often performed by hand in rugged terrain where machinery and large-scale commercial operations are simply not practical. The limited accessibility of these deposits — combined with the natural scarcity of large, beautifully formed specimens — means exceptional Himalayan quartz cannot be produced or replenished on demand.
Fine examples are selected not simply for size, but for clarity, crystal formation, condition, inclusions, balance, and overall presence. Pieces exhibiting exceptional natural features such as golden rutile and internal rainbows are particularly compelling, as these formations occurred naturally within the quartz over immense geological time and can never be duplicated exactly.
No two Himalayan quartz specimens are alike. Each is an entirely singular geological formation — making pieces of this caliber as appropriate for serious mineral collections as they are for extraordinary interiors.
Solène is particularly special for the combination of her manageable scale, beautiful clarity, natural rainbow, and two prominent bursts of golden rutile — offering many of the characteristics sought in significant Himalayan quartz specimens within a remarkably versatile size.
